JK Makes Music

I'm a 16 year old musician living in the heart of tennessee, nashville. I've been into music all my life, so I found out about purevolume a good while back. Skip a lot of details and Brad from unborn media invited me to virb. The whole customization stuff looked killer, so I gave it a shot. Wound up with a pretty horrible layout at first, then settled on the one that I have up now. It's gone through some tweaking, and I'll probably keep tweaking it forever.

Living in the south inspired my profile design. Kind of the classy yet a worn, used feel to it. I used photoshop for all the design and textmate to code the css/xhtml. If anyone has any questions feel free to send me a message or the like.

Hey It's Garrett

I was born and raised on a sheep farm in rural Maryland, can fit 27 grapes in my mouth at once, have biked across the United States and get through the toils of a nine-to-five by looking forward to a glass of wine and my sketchbook at night. My mom thinks I'm handsome and my friends think I'm a dork. I'm inspired by the everyday and the connections people create with each other. I believe it's important to understand how large the world is and laugh at yourself, especially when you have chocolate milk in your mouth. And I believe there's really nothing better than a cool drink on a countryside porch in the Summer evening.

Pope Saint Victor

[who i am] my name is victor i am a graphic designer, friend and a pope. and for some odd reason i currently live in the state of tennessee.

[what my profile is about] It's really a silly concept. It's pope saint victor town, basically I plan to make it a running story so people can check back every few weeks and see what happens next. i hope to just make people smile and at the same time let people see some of my design work. i love illustrating and creating little worlds. i live and breath art and design, you can ask most of my friends it's almost all i think and talk about. i love virb, it has been so awesome to get involved in this community. i have been waiting for something like virb to come along for quite a while. i love how many artist and musicians are on the site. it's jammed packed full of very inspirational people!

[where my inspiration comes from] i would say it comes mostly from my love for cartoons and just being a big kid. all my life i have been quite the cartoon addict and not much has changed. i love how there are no limits to illustrating cartoons. you can go as far as your imagination will take you. i also really like explodingdog.com - you should check it out. also lots of my design inspiration comes from my friends and travel. i have lived in over 11 countries and have made friends all over the world. i have been very influenced visually from all the places i have lived, especially switzerland... it may not show completely in my work but since i went to school there and feel it's where my design journey really began i feel like it has influenced my art work greatly.

and in the words of buster bluth... I'M A MONSTER!!!!!!!

Leevi Graham

A web designer previously based in Birmingham, UK now traveling through Europe by train and then heading back to my home Newcastle, Australia.

I am a professional web designer and front end developer with over 4 years professional experience in both full time employment and freelance situations.

My profile is a just another way for me to connect to various online communities. I always hated myspace for its lack of standards and crappy layouts. When Virb.com came along I looked into it and created my first profile. The result is just a casual collection of thoughts and sporadic comments.

Hydra Studios

At Hydra Studio, we design for a greater purpose. Instead of leading a design shop, we lead a design movement. We provide clients with digital marketing tools to evoke positive change. Humanitarian efforts are the pride of our company. Founder Bobby Jones has not lost sight of that philanthropic vision. We excel at empowering clients with the voice they need to connect with their audience. Since Hydra emerged in the spring of 2002, the company has propelled from a garage dream to a solution for Fortune 500 companies.

We choose clients with life changing ideas. "Our goal is to grow your brand and become an integral part of it," explains Jones. By selecting projects that we feel passionate about, we are able to maintain the integrity of our partnerships. Our clients and our projects become our family.

Matt McInerney

I spend my days designing things and listening to bands you either haven't heard of, or were better before you knew them. I also go to school, but it's art school, so you can tack that onto designing. Sometimes I write about the world being taken by Zombies with my buddy Greg on Twitter.
I spend a lot of time learning about technology and blogging, tumblelogging, or twittering about it. Really they all just blend together into some mildly entertaining web 2.0 buzzword...
Other than that I enjoy long walks on the beach, caffeine, and watching Arrested Development and The Office on a never ending loop.

Tifah

"Like a post-collegiate Fiona Apple jamming with Snow Patrol Al-Attas and her band serve up a violin-rich, piano-drenched sincerity topped off with a voice that's wise and heartbroken beyond its years" (The Onion). Tifah formed in August 2006. Although a young band, they are a group of seasoned musicians. Their release Safe and Sound (January 2007), produced by Robbie Seay (EMI) "is an emotive and mature work by an artist exploring the challenges, heartaches, and successes of life. Full of reflections on vulnerability, loss, recovery, and survival, one gets the sense that the composer has experienced real human growth and is now ready to emerge. Leading her very capable band on keyboards, Latifah Al-Attas is accompanied by guitarist Reid Phillips, drummer Dann Stockton, bassist Juli Royster, and violinist Aubrea Alford" (J. Jacoby, ColoradoMusicBuzz).

James{Collins}

I'm James. I'm a web designer and musician from Frankfort, Kentucky. I work primarily for the AGC of Kentucky designing their website, newsletters, and publications. Otherwise, I design on the side a little bit.

Virb is the perfect place to experience some of the web's most influential artists. It's the perfect space to challenge yourself and develop as a designer. My current Virb profile focuses primarily on links to my work and styling the VirbTunes modules to publish my musical interests.

For inspiration I look to music, design, and literature as much as I can. There are so many amazing contributors to the web medium... some of my personal favorites include Ryan Sims, Shaun Inman, Eric Jordan, Keegan Jones, and Stephen Hallgren.

Some day I'd like to learn Flash... and how to polka.

Kpishdadi

I'm a freelancer from the Chicago area. The inspiration for this profile came from my love for photography and Tanya Merone (http://tanyamerone.com). I really loved her 1 page portfolio and the way the ribbons separated the content and overlapped the borders. I tried to do the same for my virb profile by using the film rolls to break up the sections and display the headers.

Reed Reeder

I'm nineteen years old. I'm a sophomore biology/chemistry major. I street-sweep and do cancer research in the summers. My life wasn't very interesting, and now it's more interesting, and my only escape from the mundane is my ten-speed. I live in Denver and go to school in the center of civilization, Nampa, Idaho.

ColdRetarded

My name is Deric Mahaney and I'm a 23-year-old unemployed, talentless hack / sole proprietor of This Machine (thismachineco.com). In 2005, I moved to Oakland, CA from Michigan to be with my girlfriend and pursue an art career. It's 2007 and I'm still with her, but my dreams of a real career have crashed and burned. I'm currently working freelance on various web and print projects that hardly allow me to afford anything other than rent. I'm self-taught and I've been on the web since Swanky (anybody?) was around. I stay strong by eating Diet Coke. When I'm not in front of the computer or sleeping, you can find me hanging out with puppies, speed beating Super Mario Brothers 1, digging in dark and dirty places for records, making beats, screen printing, or watching crime dramas on television.

PostScript5

I am a 24 year old freelance web and graphic designer based in Northern Ireland.

Some random facts about me; I love driving fast, i hate peppers, i cant stand ignorance, i am addicted to Boston Legal, i love karaoke but cant sing, my nickname is bigdog, my favourite song ever is Prince - Raspberry Beret and i recently lost my father suddenly and live each day trying to make him proud.

My profile is really a more personalised extension of my website Postscript5, i used the same graphic and colour scheme, so that visitors from my website to my virb profile would instantly recognise it because brand consistency is of the upmost importance.

My inspiration comes from immersing myself in art, architecture, photography and most of all the design community on the web.
